Walnut folding desk for a study

This ‘L-shaped’ Walnut desk was designed in mind with the customer wanting a desk that folded away if the study was needed as a guest room. The shape and size was decided on to maximise the natural space in the alcove for the computer and more width more a second screen halfway along the wall. I used a beautiful piece of American Black Walnut for this job. I was particularly pleased with the cable holes I designed, as so often they are rather cheap-looking plastic or metal variations. The holes and caps cut from the solid wood gave a much higher quality feel to the finished piece. The desk was one part of an overall job I did on the study, I have also shown the accompanying alcove shelves and bookshelf on the website.
