Twin Alcove Cabinets

These alcove cabinets are either side of a chimney breast in a Victorian house. The right-hand side was designed to house a flat-screen tv and the left was mainly storage for kids games and toys. Both have bookcases above and in this case we used adjustable shelf tracks, which can be changed to suit book heights. The material we used to make the carcasses of the units was Birch Ply, which gives a stronger box and is nicer to work with than MDF and in this case the client wanted a clear finish inside. Doors and frame of box are made in Poplar (‘Tulipwood’) and the whole job in this case was hand-painted.
